Download - Unstable Development Version

The development version ("KolourPaint 4.0 BETA") usually has new exciting features over the stable version. However it tends to be less thoroughly tested. Things may break. You shouldn't use it on a production system.

You can try it by using your UNIX distribution's package management application to download the latest version of KDE 4.x (4.0.5, as of 2008-06-22).

It is the focal point for new work so this is the version you should download if you would like to contribute code.

The code is best acquired via KDE SVN at trunk/KDE/kdegraphics/kolourpaint/. It requires compilation with CMake.

The status of this version [as of 2007-10-27] is as follows:

• The port to Qt/KDE4 is complete, except for regressions documented in the NEWS file
• It has not received as much test coverage as the stable KDE 3.5.x version, and is a little unstable
• It has new features e.g. configurable color palette
